Irish soda bread

Ingredients
450 g flour, white
300 ml milk, butter
30 g spread, low fat
1 tsp salt
1 tsp bicarbonate soda
1 tsp cream of tartar

Sieve the dry ingredients into a basin and rub in fat. Make a well in the centre and mix in enough liquid to make a soft, spongy dough. Turn onto a lightly floured board and shape quickly into 1-2 round cakes. Place on a floured baking sheet or tin and mark with a knife on the top. Bake in a fairly hot oven temp. 200º C for 30-40 minutes, until well risen, lightly browned and firm underneath.
