Baked onions with rosemary and balsamic vinegar

Ingredients
4 big onions
2 cloves garlic
4 tsp dry red wine
4 tsp red wine vinegar
2 bay leaves
Salt
Pepper

Place the onion (cut into halves diagonally) in a fireproof dish. Pour red wine and balsamic vinegar over and sprinkle rosemary, garlic (whole) and bay leaves around the onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cover the dish with tinfoil. Bake until tender in an oven preheated to a temperature of 175oC (20-30 minutes). Regularly pour some of the wine/vinegar sauce on top of the onions. Cool the onions down and divide each half into quarters. Baked onions go well with Parmesan cheese as a snack.
